What are Porter’s identification requirements?

To board a flight, all domestic passengers are required to present one piece of valid government-issued photo ID that shows name, date of birth and gender, such as a driver's license or a passport. Passengers may also present two pieces of valid government-issued non-photo ID, at least one of which shows name, date of birth and gender, such as a birth certificate. All passengers travelling to and from the United States are required to present a valid passport. Citizens of countries other than Canada and the United States should contact their consulate or embassy for boarding requirements. Proof of onward or return travel may be required at check-in. What is Porter’s baggage policy?

Each passenger may carry on one standard item measuring no more than 55 x 40 x 23 cm (22 x 16 x 10 inches) plus one personal article measuring no more than 33 x 43 x 16 cm (13 x 17 x 6 inches). Each such item can weigh no more than 9 kg (20 lbs). For checked baggage, a total of two (2) pieces is allowed for a combined weight of 23 kg (50 lbs). The weight of baggage is combinable for passengers booked on the same itinerary. No single piece may weigh more than 32 kg (70 lbs). How far in advance should I arrive at the airport?

Porter recommends that passengers allow sufficient time for getting to the airport, through check-in and security and to the gate. Domestic flights are available for check-in online 24 hours prior to departure. Online check-in is not available for International passengers. Arrival, check-in and boarding times depend on the originating airport as outlined below:

Can I travel with my pet on Porter airlines?

Porter Airlines does not allow pets in-flight either checked or in the cabin. Service animals for special needs passengers are permitted providing the passenger has a service dog license. Please contact the Porter Call Centre to make service dog arrangements.

What is Porter’s policy on pregnant passengers?

Pregnant passengers at 36-38 weeks may fly with a doctor’s note written 24 hours prior to travel. Porter does not allow pregnant passengers to fly past 38 weeks.

Does Porter allow passengers to check bicycles?

Porter accepts bicycles and recommends they are stored in a bicycle box or bag. Passengers checking bikes alone must sign a release as Porter cannot guarantee the bike will not shift and be damaged in transport. Please note that a bicycle will count towards the baggage allowance of 23 kilos. Any excess weight (above 23 kg/50 lbs) will be charged at a rate of $5 per kg. An extra baggage charge will be collected for any baggage in excess of the 2 pieces allowed. The fee applied is $25 per additional item.
