The Toronto Port Authority, as operator of Toronto City Centre Airport (TCCA), has improved
access to the airport in order to facilitate commercial activity, including
a new ferry and passenger transfer facilities on both sides of the channel.
The new, more environmentally-friendly ferry improves access for passengers,
airport service and emergency vehicles with more trips per hour and higher reliability.
Access improvements and general revitalization are consistent with the city ’s
waterfront redevelopment objectives – a modern urban environment appealing
to mixed business, resident and tourism usage. All proposed changes are within the
guidelines of the Tripartite Agreement which governs TCCA operations and is signed
by the Government of Canada, City of Toronto and Toronto Port Authority.
