TSA Secure Flight Program

TSA's Secure Flight

Secure Flight is a program that enhances the security of international air travel. Failure to provide Secure Flight passenger information, required at the time of booking, will result in passengers missing their flights. Porter is required to submit the information below to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 72 hours prior to passenger travel:

  • Name (as it appears on your passport)
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Redress Number (if available)

Porter sends the information to the TSA who will match it against government watch lists. This serves to prevent individuals on these lists from boarding aircraft or to identify individuals for possible enhanced screening.

After matching passenger information against government watch lists, Secure Flight transmits matching results back to airlines. Failure to provide this information at time of booking will cause delays and may result in passengers missing their flight.

The travelling public will benefit from Secure Flight through improved security on all flights and reduced rates of misidentification of passengers who have names similar to those on the TSA watch list.
