GatePorter baggage left plane-side on Porter flights from the U.S. to Toronto will now be sent directly to the checked-baggage carousel in the Customs Hall at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
Passengers will be able to collect their GatePorter items at the checked-baggage carousel after clearing the initial customs screening point. This change will speed up the arrival process, while getting all baggage to passengers in a timely manner.
Passengers should ensure they have their required forms of identification on them, especially their passport and immigration documents. These documents are required for entry into Canada.
Boarding closes 10 minutes prior to departure so we can all depart on time.
Porter continues to introduce technology improvements in support of a faster and more efficient travel experience. As part of these efforts, Porter only accepts debit or credit payments at check-in and the gate.
Canada’s Cannabis Act comes into effect on October 17, 2018. After this date, it remains illegal for passengers to travel across the border and internationally with cannabis in any form, regardless of whether travelling to or from a country with legalized use.
Those travelling domestically in Canada will be permitted to carry cannabis within the legalized personal possession limits (up to 30 grams). This is subject to requirements that may be introduced by authorities. It is the responsibility of the passenger to learn the laws of the province they are travelling to.
New entry requirement now in effect: visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Find out if you need an eTA, how to apply and what other documents you will need to come to Canada.
If you are a dual Canadian citizen used to travelling to or transiting through Canada by air with a non-Canadian passport, you will no longer be able to do so as of November 10, 2016. You will need a valid Canadian passport to board your flight. More info.
