Base fare is the one-way fare between two airports in Porter’s network, including non-stop, direct and connecting markets. Base fares are filed in two primary distribution channels, including:

Many of the Canadian airports in Porter’s route network apply an Airport Improvement Fee (AIF) for departing passengers. Porter collects these fees from passengers and remits them directly to the airports.

The Canadian government charges the ATSC to fund security personnel and equipment for international flights departing from Canada.

For all transborder flights for Canadian citizens and for transportation commencing in Canada, GST is applied to base fare, Nav and Surcharges, and ATSC charges.
For all Canadian domestic flights excluding Quebec, HST applies to base fare, Nav and Surcharges, AIF, and ATSC charges.
For all flights commencing in the province of Quebec, GST applies to base fare, Nav and Surcharges, AIF (in Quebec), and ATSC charges.

Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) |
For all transborder flights, HST is applied to AIF charges.
For all Canadian domestic flights excluding Quebec, HST applies to base fare, Nav and Surcharges, AIF, and ATSC charges.
For all flights commencing in the province of Quebec, HST applies to AIF (excluding Quebec) charges.

Quebec Sales Tax (QST) |
For all flights with transportation commencing in the province of Quebec, QST is applied to base fare, Nav and Surcharges, AIF (in Quebec), and ATSC charges.

US Agriculture Fee |
The US government charges an agriculture inspection fee on all in-bound passengers.

US Immigration User Fee |
For all transborder flights arriving in US, there is an Immigration User Fee charged per passenger.

US Sep 11th Security Fee |
For all transborder flights departing the US, there is a Sep 11th Security Fee charged per passenger.

US Customs Processing Fee |
For all transborder flights arriving in US, there is a Customs Processing Fee charged per passenger

US Segment Tax |
For all transborder flights, a US Segment Tax is applied per passenger for US citizens.
The US segment tax is also charged to US citizens on Canadian domestic flights if travel occurs in the US buffer zone near the border between the two countries

US Transportation Tax |
For all transborder flights, a US Transportation Tax is applied.
For US citizens, it is a percentage of the base ticket price (including surcharges) per passenger.
For Canadian citizens, it is a flat rate per passenger.
