Booking a Reservation for Your Infant or Child

When travelling with your little one (or a few), it’s important to know all the details when booking a reservation for your infant or child. Here you’ll helpful information when booking a ticket for your child, from lapheld infants to travelling with young adults.

Infants (7 days to under age 2)

Infants must be 7 days or older to travel on a Porter flight. You must have a medical clearance certificate issued by a physician to present at Check-In for any infant less than 7 days old.

An adult 16 years or older, can travel with only one infant, and must not be seated in an emergency exit row of the aircraft. Porter can accommodate a maximum of 7 infants per flight on board our Dash 8-400 aircraft and a maximum of 10 per flight on board our E195-E2 aircraft. If you are travelling with an infant, you cannot also travel with your pet or as an attendant to a traveller with a disability.

If you are travelling with an infant under the age of 2, you can choose between two options:

Purchase a paid seat

Travel with the infant seated in your lap

Children (2 to 11 years old)

All children over 2 years old and younger than 12 are required to have a purchased seat at a full fare and must be accompanied by an adult older than 16 years of age.

If you are planning on having your child travel alone, please learn about Porter's unaccompanied minor service.
