Canadian border goes digital

Travelling to Canada? The Government of Canada is modernizing the border process for air travellers. Upon arrival into Canada, travellers will no longer need to complete a paper declaration card. You will use a Primary Inspection Kiosk to scan your travel document, take your photo and complete an on-screen declaration.

If you are looking to save even more time, you can complete an eDeclaration in advance and scan your quick response (QR) code at a kiosk upon arrival. Download the CanBorder - eDeclaration mobile app External site which may not meet accessibility guidelines and breeze through customs on your next trip.

Mobile Passport Control

Travelling to the U.S.? Skip the customs line with the new Mobile Passport app External site which may not meet accessibility guidelines.

If you do not have a Nexus or Global Entry card, you can download this free app and speed through U.S. Customs at 24 airports, including: Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

The app is authorized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and replaces the paper customs declaration form travellers need to fill out when entering the U.S. by air. It does not, however, replace your valid passport.
