How to check in

Four easy ways to check in

We make flying easier by making check-in easier. Before you depart, we will send you a flight reminder to your email account so you can decide how you’d like to check in. From the comfort of your home, check in online or on your mobile device. If you prefer to wait until you arrive at the airport, you’re welcome to visit our check-in counter or use our kiosks. Whichever route you choose, please ensure you have your valid government-issued photo ID as well as your flight confirmation number.

Online check-in

Use our easy and convenient online check-in when you want to check in quickly from home or work.

  • Check in. You can check in online at flyporter.com at any time within 24 hours of your departure time. Save $10 + tax per bag when you pay in advance and purchase additional travel options.
  • Get your boarding pass. Don’t have a printer? No problem! You can have your boarding pass sent directly to your mobile device and fly paperless!
  • Tag your bag. If you are travelling with checked baggage, you must have it tagged at the check-in counter or use one of our kiosks to print tags to attach to your baggage.

Mobile check-in

If you are constantly on the move, just download your boarding pass right to your mobile device and fly paperless!

  • Check in. You can check in online with the Porter app up to 24 hours before your flight. Save $10 + tax per bag when you pay in advance and purchase additional travel options.
  • Get your ticket. Your boarding pass will be sent directly to your mobile phone by email.
    • Download the pass to your phone and add it to your digital wallet
    • Use the "printable" version attached to the email
    • Access your boarding pass using the Porter app
  • Tag your bag. If you are travelling with checked baggage, you must have it tagged at the check-in counter or use one of our kiosks to print tags to attach to your baggage.

Our easy-to-use airport kiosks are designed to help you avoid long line-ups at the check-in counter so you can get on your flight even faster. Kiosks are available at most Canadian airports.

  • Check-in. You’ll need to know when airport check-in closes for your destination. Kiosk check-in is available for domestic flights and transborder flights (U.S. and Canadian passports only)
  • Get your ticket. Your boarding pass will print out at the kiosk.
  • Tag your bag. If you are travelling with checked baggage, you can print tags to attach to your baggage before proceeding to the baggage drop-off counter. Have your boarding pass with you and your checked bags dropped off before check-in closes.

Airport check-in counter

Our check-in counters are designed to help you get through the airport process stress-free.

  • Check-in. You’ll need to know when airport check-in closes for your destination. All you need is your booking reference and valid government-issued identification.
  • Get your ticket. Your boarding pass will be provided at the check-in counter.
  • Tag your bag. If you are travelling with checked baggage, you must have it tagged at the check-in counter. Have your boarding pass with you and your checked bags dropped off before check-in closes.

All passengers travelling to and from international destinations are required to present a valid passport. Citizens of countries other than Canada and the United States will need to check in with an agent at the airport.

Travelling with carry-on baggage only

If you’re travelling with only your boarding pass and your carry-on baggage, you can skip the lines and head directly to security.

Travelling with checked baggage

Checking bags? Save $10 + tax per bag when you pay in advance and purchase additional travel options or pay to check them at the airport for additional fees. When checking your bags at the airport, you can use the kiosk to print and attach your tags, or ask a Porter representative at the check-in counter for assistance.

Please allow for sufficient time to check your baggage.
