Check-In and Boarding Times

To ensure a smooth start to your trip, here’s a summary of important check-in information to get you on your way.

Web check-in

Web check-in is the fastest and easiest way to check in for your Porter flight. You can check in online starting 24 hours before your scheduled departure time. Web check-in closes 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure, except for US departures from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) where web check-in closes 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure, and both Ottawa (YOW) and Montreal Trudeau (YUL) where web check-in closes 75 minutes prior to departure.

Airport check-in

At most airports, check-in generally opens 2 hours before departure (or during the given station operating hours). Getting to the airport, completing check-in and going through security takes time, so we recommend arriving at the airport as early as possible; no later than 60 minutes prior to a domestic flight and 90 minutes prior to an international flight.

You will need to allow for extra check in time if:

Flying to the U.S. from Toronto Pearson or Ottawa International airport

When flying internationally from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Ottawa International (YOW), we suggest arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time. The check-in counters also open 3 hours before to account for the additional time passengers may need in case of operational constraints, such as long lines at security, or to go through US customs preclearance ahead of their US-bound flights.

Timings to keep in mind

Check-in and boarding times depend on the originating airport as outlined below. All times shown are prior to scheduled departure and apply to flights operated by Porter Airlines.
