Porter is pleased to offer various types of assistance if you have reduced mobility or other disability-related needs. If you’re not sure if you need a personal attendant or just a little help here and there, you can learn more about the choices you have on Our Disability Assistance Services.
On flights within Canada, in accordance with the Canadian Transportation Agency’s One Person One Fare Policy, Porter will provide a seat, at no extra charge, for attendants who are travelling with individuals who, because of a disability, are unable to travel alone.
You may qualify for this program if:
The policy does not apply to:
To find out if you are eligible, you must have your physician complete the Request for Additional Seating for an Attendant (PDF) form and return the completed form to Porter no less than 48 hours prior to your flight. If you are filling the form interactively, please download and open the PDF form in Adobe Acrobat.
Alternately, when booking within 48 hours prior to departure, to ensure that both reservations are confirmed and booked at the lowest available cost, seats should be purchased for both you and your personal attendant.
If the attendant request is approved, Porter will refund the cost of attendant’s reservation in full. The request for refund must be submitted within 30 days of the date of initial travel with Porter. If the request is not approved, no refund or compensation will be issued.
Due to safety regulations, you and your personal attendant cannot be seated in an emergency exit row (premium seats).
You may request one person to be your personal attendant from the originating city to your destination, and a different one returning back.
Should your choice of attendant change prior to travel, Porter will accommodate this change free of charge with 24 hours advance notice.
