Prospect Heights

The height of Brooklyn

Known as a hipster haven and so much more, Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights is a must-visit destination when you book flights from Montréal to New York.

To start your day off right, head to one of Prospect Heights’ restaurants. Tom’s Restaurant has been serving up plenty of pancakes since 1936, making it the perfect morning stop. While it shares its name with the restaurant from Seinfeld, Tom’s in Prospect Heights predates the other location by several years. With tons of history, the restaurant still has the same vintage soda pops on tap.

Walk off your big breakfast by taking a stroll to Prospect Park. Enter through the Grand Army Plaza gates to start your visit off by taking a picture under the towering granite archway and bronze statues. When you fly from Montréal to New York, you’re never far from a photo-op.

DUMBO

Brooklyn’s bright idea

Head to Dumbo, one of Brooklyn’s coolest neighbourhoods, with flights from Montréal to New York.

Dumbo’s strange name is actually an acronym for its location; it stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. To get under the overpass, take the East River Ferry across, or walk along the historic Brooklyn Bridge.

For the best start to your Dumbo experience, head to the water. Dumbo’s history is still visible in the waterfront warehouses that line the shores. At Brooklyn Bridge Park, the industrial area has been transformed into a green space, with one of the best views of Manhattan. During the summer, rolling green lawns and park benches create a scenic lookout over the East River.

For a different spin on the amazing view, take a ride on Jane’s Carousel. This restored 1922 carousel will give you a unique experience of Dumbo while taking in a piece of its history.

Just west of Jane’s Carousel, you’ll find The River. Not only is this upscale location one of the best restaurants in Dumbo, it’s also consistently rated as one of the best restaurants in New York. With a classic menu and a strict dress code, The River makes for a deliciously luxurious dining experience that’s well worth the flight from Montréal to New York.

More amazing food can be found by looking to the area’s warehouses. Many of these industrial spaces have been converted into restaurants, serving up a variety of fare to suit your taste buds.

Like Dumbo’s food scene, the neighbourhood’s art scene makes the most of the warehouse space. St. Ann’s Warehouse stages theatre productions in what was once a spice processing factory. If that doesn’t spice up your evening, visit one of the exhibitions or events at the all-female collective, AIR Gallery.

From warehouse wonders to upscale dining, Dumbo is the place to visit when you book flights from Montréal to New York.
