Little Italy was first established in the 1880s. Today, most of the area's Italian residents and culture are concentrated around Mulberry Street, where authentic pasta and New York's best thin crust pizza attract tons of visitors.
In Little Italy and neighbouring Nolita, you'll also find the city's trendiest clothing boutiques and best bars. The aptly named Mulberry Street Bar is one of the city's oldest bars. Here you'll be immersed in everything authentically Italian-American dating back to 1908.
If the interior with its pressed tin ceilings, celebrity photos lining the walls, and checkered tablecloths look familiar, that's because you've seen this bar on episodes of The Sopranos and Law & Order. Come here if you’re searching for nostalgia, classic cocktails, weekend karaoke, and a vintage jukebox.
Caffe Palermo has been serving up New York's best cannolis since 1973. This locally loved spot
