Toronto’s Little Italy runs along College Street to the West of the downtown core with easy access to many other Toronto attractions. Trattorias, Japanese, Latin, and Italian restaurants stand side by side with some of Toronto’s best bars and cocktail spots. In between you’ll find colourful independent cafés, used bookstores, music venues, and record shops.
Much beloved by locals since the late 1960’s, Café Diplomatico is a must visit mainstay of this neighbourhood’s culinary scene. Mouth-watering pizza, pasta, and meaty sandwiches will have you coming back for seconds.
Be sure to leave room for Café Diplomatico’s much loved cannolis and other delicious Italian desserts. The sidewalk patio is also a great place to cheer along with crowds of fellow soccer fans. During the World Cup, the streets shut down and fans spill out into the street proudly wearing their national team’s colours.
Almost every eatery in the neighbourhood has a patio where tourists and locals alike can sit back and take in the area’s relaxed and charming atmosphere. Once you’ve finished your dinner and dessert, prepare to raise a glass to Little Italy’s nightlife.
After dark, the neighbourhood comes to life in a different way as College Street transforms with busy bars, cocktail houses, and packed dance floors.
