Haight-Ashbury

The district was where hippie counterculture thrived during the 1960s, and eventually became the centre of where the Summer of Love took place in 1967. Golden Gate Park

Spend the day in Golden Gate Park after landing from your flight to San Francisco. The massive urban oasis often gets compared to New York’s Central Park, but it’s actually almost 20% larger. With museums, gardens and a beach, Golden Gate Park has activities and attractions for everyone.

Located in the heart of the park is the California Academy of Sciences. It’s an aquarium, planetarium, natural history museum and indoor rainforest exhibit all in one. This one-stop shop will fascinate visitors of all ages, especially for anyone who’s curious about the world and ecosystem.

Take a look at a huge collection of art and textiles at the de Young Museum, San Francisco’s oldest museum. Opened in 1895, the renowned fine arts museum’s permanent collection includes African art, American art, Oceanic art and much more.

Find your zen at the Japanese Tea Garden after settling in from your flight to San Francisco. It’s the oldest public Japanese Garden in the U.S built in 1894, providing visitors a peaceful place to relax. Walk along the paths and admire the exotic and native flowers, koi ponds and historic pagoda. In March and April, cherry blossoms bloom throughout the garden.

There are even more activities to enjoy in Golden Gate Park. Try your hand at archery in the west end of the park, or play tennis at the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Tennis Center.
